Today we had a baby shower for two staff members at our school, both with (soon to be & recently born) baby girls. I ended up making two flavors: GF chocolate chunk cupcakes with marshmallow frosting and a vanilla cake with whipped raspberry lemon frosting.
I made cute little fondant buttons as cupcake toppers. They were actually easy to make! I dyed the fondant pink and then found 2 circle cutters that were a little different in size (I used the big end of a piping tip and then the top from a McCormick food coloring container). I cut out circles using the piping tip and then pressed the food coloring tip lightly in the middle so that it made a ridge for the button. I poked 4 holes in the middle of each button with the pointy end of the food coloring lid. Ta Da! Easy fondant buttons!
I have another baby shower next weekend and can’t wait to try out some more cupcake topper ideas!
